With a sound as bold and distinctive as its appearance, Genista Classic drums return to their roots with a premium all-birch ply shell construction, 6mm undersize tom diameter, and unmistakable lug design.

The original Genista kits are renowned for their exceptional performance, sonic quality, and timeless look amongst drummers. The first unsupported birch shell to be produced by Premier, its classic sound is admired around the world. This, when paired with its distinctive tension lug castings, sees Premier return to one its most revered drum designs so players can fall in love with Genista all over again.

The sound of all-birch Genista Classic shells is unmistakable. Tonally, they offer fantastic weight and attack with a fast decay that can cut through any musical ensemble. The tom and snare shells are 5.6mm, 7-ply thick whilst the slightly thicker 7.2mm, 9-ply bass shell packs greater volume and punch.

Embracing the many innovations that Premier have pioneered over the years, the tom shells adopt the original Genista 6mm undersizing on their diameter. This ensures an easier, more-positive tuning experience, guaranteeing exceptional clarity and definition when played. All Genista shells are precision cut and feature a 45-degree bearing edge which helps to further increase attack, resonance and sustain for optimum sound performance.

Without question, the most distinguishable feature of the original Genista was its tension lug design. The bold castings are a firm favourite for many drummers. Genista Classic returns to the larger bass lug, whilst the snare features the famed double-end lug. All castings have been retooled from the original factory drawings for maximum authenticity, performance, and aesthetic. Each lug is subsequently fitted to their respective shell using an isolating, moulded plinth to guarantee a larger than life, uncompromising tone.
